We were tasked with creating a 50th anniversary logo to be rolled out across print, digital, merchandise and van livery, to communicate the company's strong heritage and celebrate their anniversary.
The brief was to create a logo which was an evolution of the existing CLC Group logo, adding to the existing design rather than recreating a new logo and risk diluting their strong, well recognised brand identity.
Working with our team of designers we started the project by sketching a range of concepts, each building on the existing logo and adding different elements to communicate the 50th anniversary message.
The logo needed to be modern, with a strong sense of simplicity and the ability to work across the wide range of communication platforms. Also, critically, the logo needed to be added to and removed from all the touch points without having to disrupt the existing logo, to keep roll out costs of the project to a minimum.
Based on the client's feedback on the sketch concepts, two were chosen to develop and refine. During development we looked at the scaling, weight, colour palette, font and of course overall aesthetic of the finished logo. We also advised on specification for the roll out to ensure ease of use of the logo as an adjunct to the existing.
The final logo chosen is a modern, elegant interpretation of the anniversary message which enhances the existing well-known brand logo for maximum impact across the roll out.
