Where did my first month go?! It’s hard to believe that I’ve only been working at Mzuri Design for one month, because it feels as if I’ve worked here for much longer than that already. The team are really great, and have been very welcoming and supportive.
My first week was spent absorbing so much information about the company, its policies and procedures and learning about the internal processes whilst taking in details of all the current clients and projects that I would be looking after on an ongoing basis. I’ve also been fortunate enough to go to a book launch party for Karen Jackson at didlaw at The Gherkin, which was an experience that I shall never forget.
Although I have a marketing and sales background, I have come from a different side of the fence having working in the publishing sector for the past five years. Many of my old colleagues and friends have asked how I’m finding it working on the agency side of things, and although the work isn’t too dissimilar, I suppose the thing that has struck me most is the pace at which Mzuri design work and turn projects around. I am used to working to deadlines, and with so many projects on the go at any one time, I have to say that Mzuri Design run a tight ship – it’s very impressive. I guess the other thing to note is that whilst Mzuri Design have a lot of different projects on the go they handle a variety of print and web projects seamlessly, with a faultless transition between projects. The whole team are very passionate about what they do, and they do it well, I know this from the regular and very positive client feedback that they receive.
My first month with Mzuri Design has been fantastic, and I’ve really enjoyed being able to pick up and contribute on so many of the projects from the start. I was looking for a new position where no two days were the same, and where my new role would give me an opportunity to grow, and Mzuri Design definitely fits the bill!
