Festival fun at Butserfest 2015

Butserfest is an established music festival run by East Hampshire District Council. Unlike most festivals, Butserfest, held at annually at Queen Elizabeth Country Park just outside Petersfield, is entirely drug and alcohol free, its central aim being to provide affordable, fun and safe entertainment for young people.

Following a rigorous tendering process we were proud to win the bid to manage and deliver the marketing and promotion element of this huge project in 2015.

Having joined the project team in June, just over two months before the event and over 6 months after work had started on the planning for the 2015 festival, there was a great deal to do in a short amount of time!

In order to get a clear picture of exactly what needed to be achieved we started with a full strategic review of the festival, its history, objectives, audiences, plans for growth and core values. From there we developed a detailed marketing plan, making the most of East Hampshire District Council’s in-house resources and huge network of  contacts and trusted suppliers that has been built up over the years.

Our work covered:

  • Marketing strategy and consultancy
  • Web development
  • Graphic design (for print, digital and promotional items)
  • Brand management
  • Email marketing
  • PR campaigns
  • Social media planning, development and on-going management
  • Advertising
  • Database management and development
  • Audience and stakeholder communications
  • Market research and surveying
  • Individual campaign development and management
  • Street sales and promotions
  • On-the-day support including fieldwork surveying
  • Follow-up PR and on-going brand promotion, building interest in next year

The pace of the project was intense and involved a large number of stakeholders, all working together to make the event a success for the youth of East Hampshire.

On the day itself, we were delighted to volunteer with the East Hampshire District Council team at the event to see first hand how valuable and enjoyable the event is. Butserfest 2015 was a great success and we were very proud to be part of it.

2016 sees the festival’s tenth anniversary and plans are already developing to ensure it will be the biggest and best yet! Watch this space! www.butserfest.co.uk
