A video offers the facility to quickly and effectively engage and attract visitors on your website, helping to build your brand and gain reach for your key messages.
While a site visitor is engaged with your video they are essentially interacting with your brand and are being exposed to the messages being delivered both directly through audio and text but also, more subliminally via the imagery, connotations and style that is used to deliver a rounded impression of the brand. Ultimately, producing video content can increase the reach of your messaging by adding interest and also increasing the channels via which you communicate, enabling your content to become more easily shared across social channels (also potentially offering the opportunity to go viral, the holy grail for any digital marketer!) Search engines crawl all types of digital content and so videos that have been effectively tagged can have a positive impact on the SEO performance of your site.
Video content can be used to keep visitors returning to your website with continuing stories, new instalments and content that’s easily digestible and viewable on a number of devices.
The festival industry is becoming ever more crowded and competition for ticket sales is fierce. We are currently working with the Butserfest team to build brand and sales for their rock music event in September and so recently worked on the production of a short video to be used on the website homepage and across social accounts too. We took footage shot from last year’s festival and edited a 15 second snippet of what the festival embodies. This resource immediately gives the visitor a rich journey through a day at Butserfest and what they can look forward to if they buy a ticket. The video plays in the background of the landing page, adding depth and strong calls to action to further content and ticket booking links. In addition, to promote the first stage of line up announcements for the 2016 event, a video showing clips from the bands being announced, along with some exciting festival graphics was developed in collaboration with Solent University and Down for Life Music, and promoted across the site and on social accounts to build excitement and generate sales.
