JULY 17, 2012
When we get a quiet day at Mzuri (rare, but they do happen!) we like to flex our creative muscles on projects for ourselves. Recent examples include vinyl road coverings for Zoe’s son, a height chart for my nephew and, the one I’m naturally most proud of at the moment, an invitation for our daughter Chloe’s naming day.
We wanted to create something a bit different, so a bunting-inspired invitation was conceived, using a variety of fonts and a carefully chosen colour palette. We printed them in house (on our large format printer upstairs) on a gorgeous heavy weight canvas material. We then carefully trimmed them out to their final shape, and with a steady hand created 6 tiny slits across the top, which we threaded a gorgeous soft purple ribbon through to complete the effect.
Fuscia pink envelopes with an overprinted label finished everything off and we proudly handed them over to Royal Mail to deliver them to our guest list.
I love the invitations and feel they set the tone for the party and have inspired our choice of table decorations and handily have also created a great brief for the talented Aleshia at For the Love of Cakes www.for-tlc.co.uk, who is creating a very special celebration cake for Chloe. I can’t wait. Now, all fingers crossed for the weather please!
Can we help you with a project?
