Hannah Miles: Work Experience

This blog comes from our guest blogger Hannah Miles who has been here for work experience this week. Hannah has not only shown off her creative skills whilst at Mzuri, she has also been a big help with several projects during the week. 27th-29th October 2014 – My 3 active days of work experience at Mzuri Design:
To kick off my half term, I have been spending three days in the lovely company of Mzuri Design in Liphook. I hope to take the creative route in life so therefore, going to a graphic design company for work experience is a good starting point. In the past few days, I have been introduced to both the marketing and design side of life. I didn’t really know much about Graphic Design, so when I was asked what I wanted to see within the company, I decided to go with anything they needed doing.

The first day started off with research for artwork for their company Facebook page (image backgrounds for special days of the year with worldwide activities and matching quotes), helping sort out photos for a client’s website and buying 5 massive monster pumpkins for, as you may have guessed, Halloween!

The second day I was involved with designing a possible gift package for the coming Christmas and New Year up ahead and then I was set the task of painting the pumpkins to put outside Mzuri Design. We decided to paint each letter of the company name on each pumpkin in white paint, to match the brand colours.

Today, the third and final day, I helped design a little more of the gift package, was given an insight into what the team does in the design agency and also finished painting the pumpkins and arranged them out across the windowsill (have a look if you can as they are pretty cool).

Overall, in my time here, I have met some very nice people who have helped me understand the varied jobs in Mzuri Design and I hope to come into the world of Graphic Design in my future.
