JANUARY 12, 2015
We are loving 2015 so far at Mzuri, even if both our to-do and resolutions lists are getting staggeringly long! However if, like us, you’ve resolved to take part in more cultural pursuits this year, why not begin with some exciting events from the National Open Art?
Works on Paper: 5-8th February
Following last year’s incredibly successful 5-week long exhibition at Somerset House, alongside notable shows at Pallant House and the Chichester Festival Theatre, NOA will be taking selected works back to London for The Works on Paper Fair at the Science Museum, from 5-8th February. The exhibition will showcase Early, Modern & Contemporary watercolours, drawings and prints from 20 short-listed artists from the summer competition. £15 for adults, 12-21 yrs £7.50. Or, free e-ticket (admits one) available here. Read more about the exhibition here.
The House of Fairy Tales
The House of Fairy Tales is a children’s charity based in London, committed to providing creative learning experiences for 5-12 year olds, working with institutions, events and local authorities. The charity promotes active engagement with issues concerned with sustainability and the environment. Bringing together artists, performers, actors, writers and philosophers in their hundreds to deliver theatrical events, guides and exhibitions, The House of Fairy Tales is a truly inspiring charity. NOA intend to link much more closely with The House of Fairy Tales in 2015, and is also pledging to donate 5% of art sales to them this year.
Exciting Changes to The National Open Art Competition 2015
Entry for the 2015 National Open Art Competition opens this January 10th and is open to all ages, now including children under 15, at a reduced cost of £10. This year NOA have also introduced the new and intriguing category of Moving Image; we can’t wait to see this year’s entries! Visit the website to find out more.
